Honestly there’s a lot that goes down in the novel, I’ve read the story three times. I won’t completely spoil bc I won’t do the story justice but, he does grovel and grovel and she says no sign my divorce papers, he leaves, she almost dies and the realized (essentially) life is too short for regret and they get back together

Oh trust I had lots of fun reading the novel bc the mf fell apart fr, hopefully it’s depicted the same. I just wanted her to be happy and for the plot I get why they end up together but if she was my friend there’s no way in hell he’s coming by close to her again
