Just my opinion

As a punishment, the verdict should have been more merciful than death. For instance, sending the criminal outside of their premises to hunt and search for food or anything that benifits them could have been better than die a painful death. My poor heart just can't take it. RIP comic dad!!

Yh that would make sense but I guess they don’t want to leave him alive in the instance he might reoffend. Like, what if they kick him out and he comes back for revenge? Killing would be easier solution for them I guess. They are in an apocalyptic situation so I don’t think we can apply our societal logic here as sympathy in their world could lead to their death. Although in this scenario, murdering him for stealing medicine for his son is so extreme. I also definitely don’t agree with them saving medicines just for the ‘hounds’, that’s fucked.

Yeah, that's sad but killing for stealing a medicine is too much. Thought there would be scenarios where people just betray one another as we see other zombie apocalypses ( ̄∇ ̄")

Plus, I do feel like something is wrong with the villagers. The panel where his uncontrollable tears come streaming down while blaming himself for everything caught me off guard. We don't know what the future chapters will unfold but this will get more interesting I believe.

I just want to really emphasize your point of how when it comes to an apocalyptic setting our logic doesn’t apply because people really tend to ignore that! Like yeah death is a crazy ramification for the “crime” he committed but one can argue that fair judicial decisions would most likely not be our go to in an apocalyptic world. I mean we can even go as far as to use crimes committed during war for examples. Humans tend to behave in a selfish manner due to being in a high stressed setting where the law is not (as) enforced. As much as we want to believe that we aren’t a fcked up bunch, when push comes to shove majority probably is.
