Y’all act like he’s out for blood, he hasn’t shown that type of attitude. You people forgetting, they’re in an apocalyptic situation? Even I would have a very tough time trusting someone not to steal again, especially if there is a lack of resources. It’s easier to nip it in the bud.

It’s not like the leader killed him immediately, he left it up to a vote. And as to assure he maintains control, because let’s face it if you don’t, PEOPLE have a tendency to go CRAZY, he followed the vote.

I understand why the father did it. He cared for his son and his judgment got clouded. But one, he could have asked about the medicine rather than steal it. Two, his son already had a weak constitution, the chances of the medicine actually helping were slim. So on the off chance that they actually gave him a little bit, they weren’t gonna keep doing it because that would be a waste of resource.

He was better off bracing himself for the worse and saying goodbye to his son. Now he’s dead and soon his son will go too but he’ll be alone.

Imma hope the ML doesn’t get too upset with the MC slapping him because so far he’s shown to care for him.

I have to agree with this all! I think the situation is just tough so it leads to harsh choices.I do however have to disagree on the "he left it up to a vote" because at the end of the day everyone is scared of him so of course they were gonna chose to answer the way he desires.

Not scared enough apparently, even he mentions how he should have been stricter so that situation wouldn’t have happened in the first place.

Well the guy was doing it for his son, so I mean of course he would risk everything for him even if it went against the law. Nobody else is committing any other crimes

I mean, that person that threatened the MC in the supplies section was sus af. And MC still hasn’t mentioned it to the ML.

Gurl, no matter how strict a leader is, there would always be people doing things for their family. That's like human nature. You literally see those types of behaviors in people under authoritarian governments.

Ikr. Like the point of that town was to create a form of society. Neglecting the lives of people simply because they won't contribute enough or would only end up dead, and using barbaric ways in enacting "justice" is literally the opposite of what they want to create.

I get that, I truly do, it’s not like I don’t understand why he did what he did. I’m just saying I also understand why they handled him the way they did.

The apocalypse is a really shitty situation to be in and people have different ways of trying to ensure their own survival.
