but yeah, not surprised about this development. ML's mentality is one of a child who's still learning emotions. he's not in a situation where he can learn compassion or pity. he's the leader of a survivor town in a zombie apocalypse, of course he turned up ruthless and twisted (maybe he was like this before he lost his memories too idk). like killing with a smile while crying ?? i honestly don't know how to interpret this.. is it guilt or performance? it kinda felt like a weird ''sect guru'' emotional flogging.. idk.
also MC was still really naive about their situation. he got lucky to end up in this town right after waking up, the others probably went thru some tough times that made them ruthless... they could've at least vote to kill the guy more cleanly tho.. bashing him in the head multiple time while he's begging for his child is cruel. like okay the law is strict but at least the ''offender'' could get a painless death.
