The problem with today's chapter is that it felt out of place. Why? Because we've been told this character was preparing a vendetta for 10 years, knows "perfectly" his opponent, describes himself as an extremely intelligent individual.
Yet, in the previous chapter, he offers a deal where he's at his disadvantage only for him being extremely violently v**lated the next chapter. How is that cohérent ?
I don't mind the content when the content makes sense. Here it felt poorly and weirdly written, the plan, the setting Yuta chose, it didn't make any sense after all the "advertisment" we got, him being so brilliant, so clairvoyant.
It left an extremely sour taste, without any profound meaning (or just any meaning)

You see, the crazy thing is that many readers don’t want the bottoms to be raped by anyone but if rape were to happen anyways, they’d rather the bottoms be raped only by ML. They don’t like seeing the bottoms get raped by others.
I don’t know about romanticize, but I know there’s excessive usage of drawn out rape which people have valid complaints of. And I agree with you, “Because authors like the esthetic of mafia, not the behavior.”
Anyways, I believe that these two will reconcile somehow.

Actually it was not quite like that as you mention. Yuta doesn't know Seunghyun perfectly, since one of the things he told him was that he "wouldn't be able to hurt him", when the manhwa starts with Seunghyun torturing a person in cold blood and killing him horribly afterwards. Other than that, Seunghyun is a mafia boss and controls a lot of things.
Yuta doesn't know him, he knew something about him 10 years ago and clearly completely underestimated him by provoking him. It's pretty coherent for Seunghyun to do that to him and Yuta realizing that not everything is as he expected. Even when he set Yuta to give him a blowjob, Yuta was still teasing him, thinking that Seunghyun wouldn't hurt him.
My theory is that this happening is a kind of "canon event" for Yuta, and for him to realize that the "enemy" he's trying to sabotage, really isn't as good and soft-hearted a person as he thought.
We were given a strong Yuta in the first 2 chapters, but clearly the story is just beginning and there are still things to dismantle.
Yuta isn't really that strong, he fakes this strong badass persona and it shows. Being like that it's an armour because of everything he's been through.

Thisss, but it's because clearly the author doesn't have the ability to write a complex character like yuta well. Yuta has so much potential in this story to be a character with a meaningful progression but it's clear that's not the objective of the author, they only want to write whatever plot they can have as an excuse to draw rape scenes between characters, that's all
Yall suddenly forgot Seunghyun is a fucking gangster, narcissistic dude and ALSO forgot Yuta provoked him by kidnapping and forcing him to do a blowjob, like??? If y'all wanna hate, hate both. What did Yuta expect from a mafia boss? Fr.
I know rape is bad, but y'all are clearly NOT bothered by the rape scene at all, but because y'all idolized Seunghyun sooo much to the point of comparing him to Dooshik. Seunghyun is a trashy homophobic gangster, Yuta is a traumatized gangster. There is NO ONE like Dooshik in this story.
If yall want a story with love and passion, then don't read something related to mafia, with tags like these, don't read something made by Inkiing either. Yes, she uses the rape factor in her stories. I am not a supporter, but she receives a LOT of hate compared to other BL authors that actually make the ML rape the MC. At least in the case of Pearl Boy, it was never Dooshik but Pilwon, the villain, who raped Jooha and forced him into prostitution. I also think she never romanticized rape as all of you keep saying, she could have managed traumas better tho. But she didn't and that's it.
BL is a toxic community, I know, but there is a lot of gangster in BL that actually don't act like a real gangster would. You know why? Because authors like the esthetic of mafia, not the behavior. Seunghyun has actually both, and y'all can keep hating, that doesn't change the fact that the story is about a power relationship where both of them will become horrible enemies. Let's see if those enemies become lovers. I don't think so, but if they do, Inkiing have A LOT of work to do here with character development.
I can't wait for Yuta to take revenge, I know damn well he will.
