I'm pretty sure he didn't have them the whole time, because if you go back he only started getting distant after he moved away than came back so I'm pretty sure he got his old memories when he moved and so that's why he got so like closed off and distant,

Yeah pretty sure the memories slowly flowed back for both of them, the love interest just got them a bit sooner. The story kinda explains it by showing us the MC going through the memories slowly and over time, it wasn’t like they were born knowing it or anything.
Personally thought that having reincarnation twists are fun to add....for me only tho idk for other people....like just adding those plots on popular animes as headcanons lol
The “born again” thing is so random … it was a good story but it came out of nowhere lol. Also we never saw exactly what happened between them if they were kids? If the seme didn’t want to be close to the uke why did he get close to him as kids…?? Did he have his memories the entire time.. I have questions because the reincarnation trope was so random
