I don't think the person deserves to die as punishment. Maybe have his hand broken.
But also, the children are also the backbone of this era. If they don't survive, what's the point? Humanity won't go on. That's why there needs to be a balance of priorities.

Idk y’all, if the people supplying food and necessities get sick and don’t have medicine to continue doing so. It makes sense to prioritize the medicine for them. Specifically in this scenario. If they’re capable and have the man power to fight zombies and get supplies at the same time, they’re the back bone of the community that can’t/not able to fend for themselves?. Totally something they’d do in Walking dead LMAOO
