I get it why you are saying but I am curious why they need to break up?
On top of their codependency, each have their own traumas, and Woowon now even have some fresh ones on top of his abandonment issues and low self-esteem. It was going alright at first and both occasionally showed signs of getting better (though, Seoan's obsession and distrust in Woowon's abilities to manage his own problems weren't good). But now everything is just bleak, Woowon harms Seoan, Seoan lets him which always ruins a relationship, and also by sacrificing himself, he ruins himself. Woowon harms himself too by harming Seoan but doesn't realize it. So, because they don't even know what's going on, they can't fix it, and so everything keeps getting worse. This is manhwa so some things might not be as realistic, but in real life they would need to break up for sure and each find a good therapist...
I don’t know how they are gonna make it. Both of them have never tried to help themselves while alone, what big difference will it make if they separate? I feel like they need each other, but they’re also functioning the wrong way in their relationship by glossing over and enabling SA, mixed signals, etc. There’s a lot of a nuances to consider, not really black and white—rape is still wrong nonetheless.
I think they know it’s toxic. I don’t know if author will involve therapy, many BL stories don’t have that but hope!

Breaking up is okay for them in this situation, but I definitely believe there would be no point as they’d get back together anyways, perhaps the only change would be a stronger yearning for one another—and maybe that can help them open their eyes!
