She is definitely not perfect, but she’s a normal person dealing with an insane situation. She came up with that lie out of fear for her life in the heat of the moment. She’s not a master spy, so she’s not great at spinning a web of lies.She has no papers, ID, pictures of, papers, or marriage registration for him, so it would be easy for someone to start digging and find out the ruse.
I’m not saying she hasn’t made obvious mistakes or things that are emotionally hurtful to him, but she is operating with the awareness that her lies could easily be discovered. And remember that if he leaves or gets discovered by others his brother said he would kill her.
She reasonably believes that if his memories return he will kill her to silence her as a witness or as revenge for tricking him. If he doesn’t or can’t kill her and leaves, his brother will hunt her down. It’s impossible for her to separate him from fear of death, which is why she misses obvious things because she’s still thinking of him as a threat while he’s thinking of her as a companion
