tl;dr be careful what you wish for, everyone wants to steal wishes. PSA on wishing etiquette at the end.

So many people are claiming she's being contradicting with her words. I think you forget that she's SUPPOSED TO DIE. Not, "Oh if he finds happiness, I might live" no she's legit supposed to die. She traded her life for this second chance. And she placed HIS life on the line, too. If she screws up even a little, he DIES. Not, "Oh he'll be miserable" but he's gone forever, sort of thing. Yes, she loves him. Yes, she wants to be with him. But she's at war with her emotions and logic here.

If she doesn't act EXACTLY right, they'll both die and it can't be changed. That's the last thing she wants. Even if she does everything possibly right, she still dies. That's what she agreed to. There are no do overs, no resets, no more chance, this is one shot and done. And she's likely realizing she made an impossible wish for the future and is now trapped dealing with the consequences. She wished for his happiness but if he chooses HER and she DIES, how can he be happy? Which means he'll just follow her and die after she's gone.

The thing yall SHOULD be taking from this is to be careful what you wish for. If you wish for something arbitrary like a set future (which could theoretically happen and then change or never happen at all, you were simply granted the chance of it POSSIBLY happening) or something fleeting, like emotions (which are constantly fluctuating), things can go sideways so very quickly. Treat your future wishes carefully! The fae, djinn, and many other folklore creatures are tricky and crafty, don't be fooled! Don't trust arbitrary gods, either! Everyone wants to steal your wishes and interpret them their own way, for their entertainment. Don't let them win!

Remember, be clear and concise about what you want. Make sure to go over their interpretation of your wish before allowing them to grant it. Always get your wishes in a legally binding contract. If it's written out, it's much harder to break. Beware of scams, as some might try to add extremely fine print, in order to make you beholden to them in exchange for granting your wish (especially the fae). Also beware of the dangers of requesting certain wishes, as some gods will grant them even if it causes death or endless torment. Ask for any potential side effects of your wish, like hives, rashes, the world potential ending, memory loss, etc. Never ask to be turned into anything else if you have multiple wishes, as you will only be able to articulate them in human form. Remember that you are not guaranteed any set number of wishes. Multiple wishes are only granted upon a whim and are subject to being canceled. And finally, remember that even if your wish is granted, happiness is NEVER guaranteed in regards to your wish. Happy wishing and take care!
