She used to do nice stuff even in her largest mangas. But this lack of backgrounds started long ago, I think it started when they were acting as siblings.
The lack of background is mostly to chase deadlines I think. There's also times when it's only sketches, which are actually not that uncommon when mangakas can't properly fo things when deadlines were close so you just got rough stuff published in the manga zines.
They mostly going to be fixed in thr tankobon releases.
Could be related to whatever health issues forced her to take a break back in late 2022. Would be nice if they could give her another assistant or something to help if true.
The mangaka has some serious health issues, which is why it's so slow to come out. I buy the books when they're out and the backgrounds are better - so it's probably to save her energy or whatever

I let this series cook way too long, I have so much to catch up on The backgrounds look so lackluster now tho. I wonder if it's a victim of mangaka burnout.
