promo means promotion for the novel, you should probably read the novel
As stated above, it means promotion which usually is like a trailer or a prologue for the story. It’s to advertise the source material, usually novels, to readers. Some promo eventually becomes serialized while others remain as just promos. It depends on if the story gets famous enough and if it’ll be profitable enough probably. If you don’t want to wait for an uncertain future where it’ll become serialized, I’d also you recommend to just seek out the novel yourself, since even if it gets serialized, it doesn’t mean they’re certain to do a good job at it.
guys what does promo mean i’ve always wondered causes there’s a lot of bls ive seen where ppl comment “it’s just a promo” so is it not gonna be a story when ppl say that?? or will there be one? if not should i just read the novel ?
