Honestly what was the point of many of the choices the author made for the plot?? Like a story like miserable in love has cheating and many other things that usually you can't justify but that story had a purpose it was an elaborate story about abuse(and somewhat educational i would say on this matter) mental health, healing and forgiveness, and at the end most readers understood the characters and why they were the way they were. and to me it made sense to forgive and rebuild a life with mc because he deserved it... he earned it because he really changed... he wasn't just selfishly and pathetically doing "whatever it takes"! In night by the sea taejoo was the scum of earth but he really really changed... he changed everything that he did wrong he didn't just regret it by himself and think some what if bullshit he changed and redeemed himself earning the love of mc and readers and the point of the story was that even the worst of us deserve a second chance if they really mean it and make different decisions but even if I understand the twisted manipulation that both of them did I just don't understand the drug part here... it's like roses and champagne all over again... there really wasn't any reason for the ml to shoot mc that is an irredeemable thing!!!!! other things maybe I get it but that has been throwing me off for a loop like just WHY? Why make a character irredeemable and try to do the impossible? Like don't get me wrong i like dark irredeemable characters but i hate it when the author pretends they're not... if you like dark twisted irredeemable characters make one and own it don't pretend like your story is something that it's not!!! And in this case it hurts more because he was such an interesting character and i would have loved to see an omega top with complex feelings of inferiority and self worth!!!! He was way better than the cabbage that the alpha has always been but he just had to go ahead and drug the person he loved with the drug that the family he hated developed???? Doesn't make sense to me at alllll! and honestly what is the lesson here? what's the point when they haven't changed? I thought they did and i was ready to accept them but the author is just proving that they didn't change one bit!!!! They are both still selfish and still manipulating mc just emotionally now... even their internal monolog is always me me me me... NO...just no... stop pressuring and guilt tripping this nice person into your selfish desires... At some point I thought between the two of them at least the alpha didn't drug the mc but then I remembered at the start he deliberately acted like a gentleman seducing mc to be able to get him to accept his fwb offer and although not illegal it's just so scummy i can't stand it... he is also a cabbage with no flavor, just asshole tendencies!
It does also contain spoilers for other stories so yeah don't read it I just needed to get shit off my chest because for some reason I was really pressed about the direction of the story XD
