Kin is selfish, but for a good reason. At least, that's what I think.
He thinks Lil is a distraction to his majesty. Having Karas distracted means they won't be able to finish the war. An unfinished war will lead to the council reigning the empire again.
Problem is being selfish is "Okish" we all are selfish at some level right?
But when your selfishness legits lead to someone's >death< wich at least so far is what he is planning to do...holy shit thats reaaaally bad its beyond "Okish". its cruel. I dont like that character at all at this point, I hope he gives up on his plan

I won't give you spoilers but my favorite part of the novel was the confrontation between Karas and Sir Kin about his true intentions. That was just beautifully written.
Don't trust that fucker!! Why did they even tell him who Lil was???
