Now yessss, it was a bit crazy to do that danganronpa public execution but like. Its an apocalypse. I'm just saying

Like yes, it is actually very tragic we have an orphan on our hands here but I do see the reasons for such a harsh punishment

Fear to keep order.
They're safe from thoes actual wild ass things out there. Yes his son was sick. Was very very tragic and do not get me wrong I feel bad for the dad and the new orphan. However I also like see it as like. If everyone went savage would they differ from thoes zombies.

I think brutally murdering someone with a bat in a public execution is wrong in the sense of our morals as people who are not in an apocalypse. But thinking about it in the situation they're in. It was kinda needed to set the example of what will happen if you break a rule.

    punishment should match the crime

I strongly disagree with your statement that fear creates order. Fear might make people follow rules for a while, but it doesn’t create real order. People might stay in line because they’re scared, not because they believe in the system or trust the leaders. That kind of control always breaks down eventually, either from rebellion or collapse. There are several examples in history where dictators tried to use fear to force their subjects to obey, and we all know how they turned out (Reign of Terror, Saddam Hussein’s Regime, Soviet Union). And I feel like there should be some exceptions to the rules. If the dad hadn’t stolen medicine for his son, his son prolly would have died (young children are very fragile). Then, humanity (assuming that their town is one of the last) would have a even less chance of survival.

There are better punishments they could use for breaking rules—ones that don’t involve brutal violence. Also, what do they expect to happen every time someone gets sick? Do people just sit around and wait for them to either die or somehow get better on their own? That’s not realistic, especially in an apocalypse. And if they aren’t even willing to make an exception for a child who needs medicine, there’s no way they’ll make exceptions for adults either.

U see if the punishment was small, other ppl would have also disobeyed cuz of their own needs
What seme did was twisted but everyone has their own approaches (seme and the viewers)
Even w strict punishment, human tend to disobey but cuz of fear and the rules being strict the ratio of human disobeying is low compared to humans disobeying cuz of normal punishment
Humans tend to do whatever their desire/will takes them to
From both sides (strict or punishment acc. To the crime) humans will disobey if their situation lets them to
Everyone on their ground is quite correct , the father wanting to cure his son so he stole the med, the seme following the rules he already set up cuz for him his this small town protection is above all, uke sympathisin w the father cuz of his humanly emotions/normal being/emotional emotions, also the bg characters votin w seme cuz of fear, the urge to Punish the father since all the supplies have to be distributed equally.
We feelin bad cuz of our natural sympathisin emotions like its just a med that's stollen in Apocalypse time while living a carefree normal life.. but if we had a situation like that and supplies were limited, our survival instict would have also kicked in whether in the form of the seme, the background ppl or the father,, it depends on the situation and the thought proccess basically (idk why am I yapping here I just wanted to share my thoughts that maybe everyone are correct w their way of thought proccess T^T)
