Topic: Diets/wanting to be skinny

I've never understood the thought behind dieting, or really wanting to be skinny. I understand it's that standard society has pushed on us, especially women. That skinny is what we should be but the way y'all go about it is sickening.

These people literally starve themselves or literallycomplain about not being able to eat this or that. But the thing is, we're all going to die. It's going to happen and we can't stop it and we only get one fucking life, and you're going to spend it like this?

Telling yourself that you can't have pizza because it's too greasy and fat and you're trying to lose weight? Honestly it's fucking annoying. Knowing is going to know or care that you used to be skinny when we're rotting six feet under. Just eat what you want.

Now when it comes to overweight ppl, sure I'll support it but even then it gets to a point. Just because you're not eating burgers anymore doesn't mean you're going to loose weight, you have to actually workout too.

People treat food like it's this evil thing when it's only job is too give us energy and keep us alive!

it doesn’t work like that. eds are a mental problem, so yes we KNOW we’re all gonna die, duh. but it’s more than that, like you can’t just think oh i’m hungry i’m gonna eat a pizza, bc your brain will refuse to let you eat.
for instance, when i was deep in my ed i didn’t even feel hungry anymore and would go on with one small meal per day. it was all i could think of, food food and food.

ppl who have an ed love food, its a hate love relationship. so saying « just eat what you want » when our society is judging us for being fat or not skinny enough is not smth you should say. if you didn’t experience anything of that sorts, why say that

I'm not talking about ed's, I'm talking about regular people that happen to be on a diet because the feel the need to loose weight and fit in with societies standards.

Also, you don't know what I've experienced. I'm saying what I'm saying because of what I've been through, I'm just saying how I think about the infatuation everyone has with fitting in with these standards now a days.

and it’s still the same thing, you can’t just say « eat » to someone who’s struggling with body image, if someone’s starving, it’s most likely an ed

then don’t say just eat how can you even dare to say something like that if you’ve experienced an ed or struggling with food in general ? yes it is infuriating but you can’t do anything about it. spreading body positivity will help but not cure the whole problem. these standards always have been there, it’s not a nowadays thing

"just because you're not eating burgers anymore doesn't mean you're going to loose weight, you have to actually workout too." umm no actually, losing weight depends primarily on ur diet. workouts are good for u generally, but even if u don't exercise and take care of ur calories in & calories out ratio, you're definitely gonna lose weight.
