You're right a kraken makes sense!
Also what kind of a mer is he? Swordfish, sunfish? It's hot fs but ugh that's not accurate squid anatomy plus if he were a colossus he'd be redder so he's just a regular giant squid then again we don't know much about colossus they could be yellow
