It's not really her parents fault I think. It's the author. She deliberately made the parents and everyone around her compare her to Yeo-ryeong so that Dani would feel inferior and jealous. Wasn't Dani supposed to be jealous of Yeo-ryeong oringally or something. I can't remember tbh
