literally I love how the author also isn't villainizing him for not taking someone's word that they will take care of him, I hate when authors try to show that the mc is "unreasonable" or "stupid" for not wanting to get fucked over. the author really let us get to know the mc and isn't punishing him for doubting the ml which a ton of authors do and treat them like they are ungrateful
I think it’s more of his insecurities speaking than anything. He has been hiding his secondary gender and repeatedly lying to the ML throughout and keeps getting in his own head. Does the ML have issues, yes. Does the MC have issues, definitely.
because of how intimate he is with ML, he KNOWS how shitty of an asshole ML can be, hence why all the hostility and anxiety
