How is it both? It’s either one or the other. Shounen Ai focuses more on the emotional aspect of a relationship while Yaoi does both physical and emotional. So it can’t really be both.

There are very very few not so elaborate sex scenes,in the whole series there are only 3 to 5 panels of real sex and the other 2 or 3 that are there are censored, so it focuses heavily on the complexities of the human emotions and relationships, so it's yaoi just for the sake of it
