Rereading this is makes information so much sense, I was kinda confused cuz gjord is a king of epssen yet he's also a knight?, kinda still confused at that part but ig he's a knight despite being a king or lord or whatever

Also it's only shown in like 2 panels but it seems the steward's son is a knight under gjord and gjord somewhat kept him alive during battles, as it is shown that the knight runs to the steward like a mom reuniting with his son, so that's why steward is indepted to gjord.

In Chapter 41 they discuss how the title of "King Eppsen" is given to slaves and pickpockets, the lowest of the low. "It's just the nobleman's way of saying to take the hint and go die on your own." In other words, fight and remove yourself from the equation in peace. Sir Gjord is a bastard and therefore illegitimate for a real title. Which is probably why his relatives keep ah..."disappearing."

Though it seems that through his wartime escapades, Sir Gjord has managed to make the title something of his own? At least that's the impression I get.

Nvm, his father is just a lord of epssen and his father didn't like him so as the manhwa said, he was sent to war at a young age and ended up being a knight of khallak and knights of khallak have titles of lords and have their own estate, finally made sense to me after rereading and reading the novel
