Back when I was a wee highschooler (here in SE Asia), it's rare but not unheard of. In my class, someone's ought to have it. Only their friends would point it out once and then let it go. Acquaintances wouldn't even comment it.
It's like a small elephant in the room that anyone doesn't want to address. Not sure how to put it. Kind of like, you look at it, go 'hmm' and then just move on to the next dull thing you'll see.
