imagine super heroes who have crazy powers and all that shit, and their mind and body can breakdown if they use it too much, thats when guides came and "guide" them, the guiding can be done holding hands, kissing, having sex, whatever, just need physical contact and the superhero (here they are called espers) goes back to normal
and if you ask about why its names guideverse i really dont know, but i think its because mostly of those stories are in the point of the view of the guide? who knows
You know how omegaverse first was born out of a fanfiction trope based on 2000s shows like firefly and supernatural which was some kind of subgenre of werewolf erotica and evolved into the omegaverse we see now in yaoi and is also very present in fanfiction for every fandom
Guide verse has a very similar origin
There used to be a show called the sentinel about a guy with animal like super senses and he had this Guiding character that helped him keep his human mind
He was guiding him in a very spiritualist and friendly way
That created a subgenre of fanfiction called sentinel/guide where the sentinel became more and more supernatufal powers and the guide too became some sort of fated encounter that evolved to esper/guide and following the naming convention of omegaverse = guideverse
