Nev wasn’t the nicest to Ben.
Sure he took him in, gave him food n clothes but that's it. He neglected him and allowed him to be near bad ppl why you think Ben yearns for attention n love but also fight it? It's foreign to him, he never had any of that growing up and is used (n beaten up) to be alone n cruel
Nev was cool but he was a bad dad lol gave Ben a roof and food but that was it no love, affection and barely any praise because why would he praise Ben? Ben was merely a tool for nev to bring up so he could use him properly, do you praise and love a sponge for washing the dishes? No you use it and you toss it when it gets too icky

Np I actually like nev a little and I hope it explores his reasonings and purpose more but yh he wasn't the best to baby Ben he gave him just enough to make ben hope he could get more but not enough to make Ben actually feel safe secure or loved. But hey if you're a runt who's never known anything but the streets and being treated like trash nev probably seems like he shits rainbows in comparison

Am I the only one who thought Nev was a good parent to Ben? Did I miss something? Or am I being delusional lol. Did I miss a chapter where Nev ill-treated Ben? I was kinda hoping he'd be successful in reviving him to be honest. Taekwon saying Ben had shitty parents caught me off-guard because I thought Nev was kinda cool.
