I really love how the author has made it so everyone surrounding the MC seems manipulative and untrustworthy. The ML is obviously a bad guy, his dudes go around murdering people in Cold blood. But at the same time the organization that the MC joined are also deeply manipulative and very clearly mistreat people, they also really do not care about him at all and only want to use him.
I think the shows some talent from the author and I really like that. I'm intrigued and I can't wait to find out why everyone is so shady and potentially understand their motives so they become a little bit more likeable.
