Wait if anyone is like “nah not feeling it” while looking at the title or cover or first few chapters just keep reading. I was going to do the same and today I was like I’ll just read for a little bit since I’d probably drop it anyways cause I didn’t feel like reading anything today. But now I’m all caught up and it was actually a really good read and kind of addicting.
One of the things I really like are how the woman are written, despite the time period being one that isn’t a great time for woman especially, the story doesn’t unnecessarily talk about women being so pathetic and completely helpless. It’s more like a mention for them being “lower than men” while the women still shine doing what they are able to in the limits of what they’ve learned if that makes sense. I love woman empowerment but I hate when it’s forced onto people whose role purpose suddenly vanishes because of it. This story does a great job at keeping the MC the center of a female empowerment role while continuing to write amazing side female characters. And the “sisterhood” trope in this comic is also not forced. I just love how this story is written.
