I don't think that's it. The whole rescuing was him passed out. Guwon took an interest on him after Teach attacked him
I mean not only he's different bc he didn't see that side of Guwon but it's the only person in the entire town who ever acted on his own, pull a knife on him, talk to him on the same level, taught him things and got mad at him
Exactly, Guwon has respect for the MC because he's talking to him on the same lvl, that and Guwon just wanted someone to talk to him, who wouldn't constantly look scared shitless
So I assume Guwon likes MC the most because he is the only person (I'm assuming?) who he brought into the town without killing MC family like he did with the Doc's family and presumably the other people.
I'm saying this cus the Doc said they all ended up in the village through a similar way?
