are you reading the novel, manhua or watching the anime? (or idk live action in mdzs case)

I'm not sure which one I should watch/read. I watched heaven's official blessing as a anime before when I couldn't understand it so I was thinking of watching the live action in mo dao zu shi's case...
see if you planning to watch mdzs drama (untamed), prob do that first. because if you read the novel/anime/manhua etc first, you'll be disappointed bc they have cut alot. (tho i'll say, it's good as a separate work).
regarding the anime or manhua, the manhua is closest to the novel (with explicit scenes cut) and anime is 2nd best. honestly just choose what you like better
so basically the censorship order is this: novel > manhua > anime > drama (untamed)
i personally have only read the novel and watched the drama
in heaven official's blessing case, honestly the anime is pretty good. (better than the mdzs anime for me) but if you don't understand it, read the manhua (novel would be best but if you don't want to, manhua is good enough)
i know this sounds hella complicated, so just try out whatever you like best. it's not really that important to read/watch in a particular order or even read/watch everything. it depends on what medium you like best
