I feel the same way. He's manipulating her into thinking about him constantly but in such ways that's worsening her self-esteem. She's having to question herself constantly, and doing so is mentally exhausting. Not a good way to build her confidence in his feelings for her. If he confesses later on, she might not even believe him.

I didn’t like how he intentionally made her believe he was with some woman because of the perfume just to make her jealous
