I'm trying so hard to like this but the lack of immersion in the era and location is stressing me out. You have one guy with a polo and tie looking like a salary man (this should usually be with a coat or suit! No one casually just wears a tie like that unless you're rich). A modern looking electrical lamp on the table, and a korean dude who look like he got isekaid from a convenience store. Ugh, dont mind me, im just yapping since im playing rdr2 rn lol

You’re so real for this lmao

Not to say you're wrong or anything, BUT, the tie could indicate he was a Mod, or of a higher profession, the lamp looks like a wicker lamp to me and many Koreans migrated to the United States after 1949 after the Korean war since the US got involved and catalysed South Korean immigrants (also the guy's name is Todd, so idk if he's actually south Korean), also following the nationality act of 1965, more Korean people immigrated! Also, I'm a big history nerd and lighter, and his rifle ARE very much accurate with the time line. <3

Sorry, i just read the synopsis and just saw that it's supposed to be set in the 1960s, it being cowboy themed led me to assume this was during the American frontier. But man, now that makes it even more confusing since there's really nothing that makes it believable that it's in the 60's?? They just slapped vests on everyone and had the most generic lamp and saloon sign lol. I know i know, it's not that deep it's just BL LOL but my gripe is really just on the neglect on the environment and background art, which could've made for a more compelling narrative. Painter of the Night for example is so good at depicting the era it's in, and i think that if they were gonna do a mid/south western setting set in the 60's, it shouldve had the same amount of research as historical BL *yugi slams table meme*

I'll shut up now tho, im jus reading on a pirated website lmao

No way, I love hearing that side of your opinion and who cares if it's on a pirated BL website, something that irked me was the lack of southern vernacular, even though it seemed to be set in the south, I feel like there could be better representation, but it is the first chapter so I'm holding out hope!! Do you have any reccs for good American historical media???

Well judging by how little detail and thought is put into the clothes and architecture, i doubt they could pull off realistic southern dialogue anyway lol

But, I am just a casual fan of wild west stuff lol I've played the red dead games, watched most neo western films out in the past years, and fall asleep every once in a while listening to Sleepy Historian, The History Guy, or Oversimplified (he used to be the goat in animated history vids)

I just really like cowboys and im not even american lol

I'm American, and I'm really into the old, small-town vintageness because that's how I was raised, and I just really like the creepy and kind of quiet lifestyle lol. That's really cool though and I'd love to know if you have any movie reccs???
