It’s because he doesn’t have an heir. Apparently only males can be king and he and the queen only had twin daughters. They could keep trying but there must be a reason why they don’t, like the last pregnancy was risky and she can no longer have more or she has a weak body. So that means they have to look elsewhere and that’s where the annoying half-brother comes in but I think this dudes swimmers are dead since he’s been sleeping around and got no one pregnant. So the ML and FL are better choice since the king knows the ML’s son is better knowing their father won’t try abusing his power. Just a guess though, ╮(￣▽￣)╭
I don't understand why so many talks about being the next emperor while the current one is young and healthy himself?!
