Maybe cause they are so young instead of being a teenagers or they are so young and when they are older they can repopulate the town

So he killed the vet’s wife and kids, but then acts all lovely w the other 3 kids in town? How did these children even get in this place if they’re not “useful”? Like the only way I can see a redemption arc is if he’s getting possessed or smth to kill…idk
