I have no idea and interest in greek mythology so I only searched about sisyphus just now....

This made me realize there's people out here reading this that dont even know 'Sisyphus'

Yes, me. I have no interest at all in greek mythology. I only started reading this because I loved dangerous convenience store. Eventually had to do some digging since people are discussing about it and I have no fucking idea what they're talking about

It’s fun to learn something new, the story of Sisyphus is definitely interesting and ends with a harsh punishment (rolling the boulder up the hill forever and it always falling down the hill after almost reaching the top, he ends up in a cycle of never ending pursuit of something he will never achieve) The Zeus certainly hated him.

Anyway, I wanted to kinda make a joke and say, while some Greek myth is quite interesting, I totally respect your disinterest as there is a fair amount of incest, murder, and punishment. Well, peace out

This is taught in school. Common myths like those of flowers (Narcissus and Hyacinthus) and saying like "Pandora's box is opened" , "Icarus flew too close to the sun"

Even if you have no ok interest in Greek Mythology surely you'd be familiar with some of them

I thought they were either joking or stupid. But them after more thought, I considered that maybe they didn't get the same education. Schools make us learn these things because "we had to, it's important"

You shouldn't assume we have the same syllabus. Different country, syllabus, culture and religion. It's not a common topic here and definitely not taught in school
