So, MC wasn't rejected, the type of love he was offering rejected. He wants basically "Total Power Exchange" over the MC.
Total Power Exchange is a BDSM term, but don't think this is what I'm saying or what it is. It's just easier to explain what ML wants from. The MC. This is forced power exchange.
He hated the MC for so long, that his hatred turned into a twisted version of love and Black/Red flag traits. ML wants to be the reason for the ML's joy, fear, pain, hate, everything. He wants the ML to belong souly to him and no one else. Remember Love and Hatred are of the same coin.
Basically that's what he wants from the MC, that's why MC was rejected.
