well those kids were likely born in the town, and thus count already as part of the population but other than that yeah none of these puzzle pieces are fitting together so far

thats what i initially thought, but then why would Guwon be perfectly okay with having dead weight? we've seen that he's perfectly okay with getting rid of people that either don't carry their weight or don't have a use so why is he actively going out of his way t take care of these kids and play with them?

i know it will make sense later in the book, but i have an itching feeling that everyone in this town is mentally deranged to the same capacity Guwon is

dude probably, i don't imagine it's easy to hold onto tight morals and sanity in a situation like that. If it weren't for the fact that he killed the docs daughter and probably plenty of other people's kids i'd guess maybe he saw the "potential" to fill a niche in their future but if that were the case then yeah why tf would he be killin other people's kids? honestly i'm just gonna row my delusion boat down the denial river and hope i can figure it out along the way lmao
