You have missed:
- Jaeshin starting to soften (not got soft, don't misunderstand XD)
- keeps asking (and listens to, more or less)
- on his own volition found out about Nok's mother - it was a huge weight on Nok's heart
- cuddling & talking
- the pushing scene shows Nok is not afraid of him anymore
- all those yearning talks from Jaeshin (when he himself wasn't aware of his feelings)
Nok's very perceptive and *self-censor to not blurt out a spoiler* Just perceptive :D remember their talk before going to Haenggung? When Nok's heart beat so fast? Even I could hear it - or was it my own?ლ(´ڡ`ლ) He suspected Jaeshin's gotten feelings for him but wasn't sure, as well as his own were too weak, so he preferred to back off for now.
As for your question WHY... Remembering their first and second encounters, it's hard to understand for me too. How Nok came to love Jaeshin in just a few months...
But two points:
1 - it's historical fantasy yaoi - do not expect total reasonableness;
2 - I think Nok could've had ptsd (as we would call it today); he's internally weaken, vulnerable and scared (and was young). He had one person he thought he can lean on (fucking-Kyeongjun) and leaned on him so much he called it love. No other close person. Always hides what he thinks and what he feels. And then he met a strong ghost (who looks like a human), who can (and says he will) protect him from other ghosts and more, who doesn't care about his position, with whom he can be more like himself... So ofc he would grow fond of him. ╮( ̄▽ ̄)╭
Psychologists warn to NOT have sex (repeatedly) with ppl you don't like or hate, bc you WILL become attached to them. That one is real.
I don’t fully understand why the uke fell in love with the seme. The monster thing told the seme that he had been having the wrong approach. Humans need kindness etc. So I expected to see a few chapters of the seme gradually getting kinder, and making the uke’s heart go badump with multiple small gestures. And then the uke’s impression of the seme softens after each gesture.
Instead, we only got one playful/ intimate moment where the uke pushed the seme into the water.
And a whole lot of smut.
I get that the seme was doing some investigation in the background, but ultimately the uke fell in love with him without those kind words even though the seme changed marginally. Instead, all the uke could talk about was how grateful he was that the seme chased those ghosts away.
So, the uke’s feelings changed from gratitude to love, not from gradually being treated better over a period of time.
And then the monster speaks to the seme again, remarking that carnal desires have led to love. So, what have we learned? Sex leads to love and not being treated kindly? The implication here is not great.
I think ultimately the uke just fell in love too fast.
