There are two side stories the one he's injured is the lobo one. Basically he got injured in the future and we (readers) went back to the past, we're seeing their conflict about making jihoon have another reason to live other than the mc, it's for readers to build up tension and affection with the ML, us seeing how he would sacrifice himself without hesitation bc he has no other reason to live. Basically my guess is that he'll be injured really badly
So basically that POV of Jihoon was an actual flashback about his thoughts on Gitae, that would make sense. Thanks for the clarification since all these uploads with lottle strip is making everyone hard to process the sidestory because it's an interesting story to tackle, them in timeskip.
