    Generally from what i have understood since its mostly on the pov of the uke its more of
    Mc: uke
    Ml: seme

    But ig that sometimes really depends on the context of the story. Whether its focusing on the uke/semes life then u can interpret them as mc

    Mc= main character (usually the bottom)
    Ml= male lead (usually the top)

    So i actually ask this a while back bc in my head is
    MC= main character
    ML = main lead
    But apparently is actually
    MC = male character (??)
    ML = male lead
    Pretty stupid imo bc well.. it's a BL, of course they're male lol

    Anyways whoever it's the protagonist is the MC, bc honestly why would you call "main character" the love interest instead of the character that's telling the story??

    What? MC means main character and ML means main lead. It's the same terms for every media outside of BL and it doesn't have anything to do with bed positions.

    MC = Main character
    ML = Male lead

    MC can be uke or seme in BL. It only depends on the story when we're reading it from the seme's point of view, then seme becomes MC. Most of the times, we have lots of stories with uke's POV, so perhaps you were just confused.

    Mc = main character, ml = male lead
    People conflate these two with bottom and top respectively because most of the time the bottom is the mc in bl so people just came to assume that the mc is always the bottom (which lowkey feels like fetishization but that’s a whole other can of worms). But there’s still plenty of stories where the top is the mc.
