I lowkey agree but I think you were expecting too much. This story is probably gonna end before 50 chapters so they kinda have to smooth over things like this. And the FL from the start doesn’t have any substance besides being really kind. Honestly she’s the female lead she’s literally the protagonist but stories like these fr aren’t about the female lead. She’s not doing anything to advance the crown prince, she’s not doing anything for her dad, she’s not doing anything for herself in social spaces. Really if the female lead didn’t exist or she was a side character, the story wouldn’t change much at all. Idk why authors when they do the historical Korean genre they always make the female leads so 1 dimensional. Very few think outside the box. I mean technically it’s somewhat realistic in the sense that being vindictive or standing of for yourself wasn’t even an option for women back then but still I hate it. Everyone else gets to be unique and cool except the female lead. Even madam ryo has more substance, and lowkey I think she’s drawn better than the female lead.
Gonna be honest with myself, the art blended me. Now if I put that aside and take a closer look at the story.... all I get is disappointment. The smut was bad, the story is dry and after Doha's confession over his royalty it feels like we've reached the end of the story; since hiding THAT secret was the whole point of it, right?! Plus, can we talk about her reaction to all of that? It was suuuuuuper lame, wasn't it?! Idk...she could have at least be angry or speechless or surprised but she did what? Nothing. Literally nothing!!
Well, I'll give this a bit more time, since we had a good start sometime there. But if it doesn't get better, I'm really out.
Let's wake up guys, art isn't everything. I just noticed how superficial I am for clicking every damn thing because of a pretty cover picture :/
