as someone who is Japanese and has been living in American every since childhood i can see things from both of their views. Of course i'm not stating that i understand the true difficulties of war, and the post war reconstruction period, but i can sympathize with both of the characters. I love Matsumoto's (author) works and like the rest this one has a beautiful story, world building, and art, while also being a bit bittersweet and shows the realities of the this world. Although the story is short it was thoroughly thought out in a way that conveys a beautiful story about two beautiful people, while also showing the harsh truths and realities of people in a time such as this, without rushing, or glossing over parts, or forgetting the theme of this story.
