okay it's been a while since I read the novel but wasn't that Chasu guy working with Perez?? I feel like somewhere in my memory there was a scene of this guy explaining how he cut Perez where it would be deep enough to prove that he tried to assassinate Perez per the queen's orders but in an area where it wouldn't be life threatening OR AM I REMEMBERING WRONG???
