Not only that but this type of death is really common and he was gone through this 99 times so it's normal he have a tough skin for this type of situation, plus they are in the beginning stages witch means less deaths since it's still considered easy. And he already was going to boss in full speed, when he saw the boss to blond guy was already dead and he was still far. So even if he wanted to save them he couldn't arrive in time to save the others.
Plus it's not like he just them die on purpose, they were just at the wrong place wrong time. Not much he can do about it¯_(ツ)_/¯
Its just people stuck on stereotyping the role of "protagonist" into someone who can be labeled as "hero" especially on an action/adventure setting. MC here falls more on the Anti-hero category.

Why y'all suddenly hating on Mc? Like if I got regressed 100 times I also would stop caring about saving people I would probably lose my will to live also cuz it would be me just repeating and repeating the same thing, it was known from the start that Mc won't be the normal good mc from the start
