Kinda hated the last panel since it came off at least imo as Mr. Ghost only possessing the guy for it to share its forgotten feelings, instead of fully instilling that memory like how it was originally his. It's like the memory was never his and himself only, but was just a fragment of his other self or alter ego that makes him who he is as a whole. It's like eternal sunshine of the spotless mind tyoe of thing that these people will still continue to live even without those memories and feelings of love.
