why do people say they don’t have chemistry i just read the whole thing in one sitting and wow, they have amazing tension. i get the feeling that care about each other a lot in their own strange ways. taemin caught feelings very early on but most of the manhwa is narrated in his perspective, so we see him actively push his feelings away all the time. if taemin wasn’t living life for pure punishment and atonement for his family dying, he would’ve let himself fall in love with jay easily, but he won’t because he feels like he doesn’t deserve any happiness in his life. jay knows this and also knows he can’t push taemin to accept any feelings very easily, so he subtly (also not subtly aka pushing him down all the time) lets taemin know that he doesn’t need to live life in atonement forever. jay modified that movie script at the end to include this dialogue about the suicidal office worker: “i wish i could’ve become his reason for living” and it’s implied that taemin cried after reading that part (he covers his face but pretty sure he’s crying). either jay was letting taemin know that there’s people around him who care about him (hansoo, manager choi) or he was letting taemin know what he himself wanted to become the reason taemin keeps on living. a lot of manhwa is spent on taemin learning to live with himself and find purpose in life again, even after fulfilling his unfulfilling revenge. with the encouragement of manager choi, hansoo, director jeong, and especially jay, he wants to keep being an actor despite only doing it at first to get back at myungshin. side note that chapter where myungshin found out that jay was taemin’s sponsor was way more satisfying than i thought, even if taemin didn’t feel that fulfilled. anyway i love their chemistry and taemin just has a hard time letting himself go and admitting he finds jay fine as hell
