The way I see it is Remi loved Emi and revered her for her kindness. I think it would have been the wrong flavour for them to end up lovers. Seeing Remi so happy about being her mother, I think it was the perfect end to their relationship.
I agree, not all love in the world needs to be passionate and/or romantic. It's free and in the end, all that matters is that they're happy. Emi also never loved Remilia romantically so it would've never been an ending with them together.
This was incredible, probably one of the best villaines genre has to offer but I'm still salty MC and Emi didn't end up as lesbians like, I get it, she picked angel because he's the best most powerful man and fits Emi but do you know who would fit her better?
