That was my favorite part.. because he's character didn't seem like the typical perpetrator to me and when I saw the backstory it made soo much sense I wanted him to get the much needed help he deserved when that first happened to him. I'm about to read this story again for like the 100th time.
Even though haga was a rapist he was also a victim first. And the way he internalized his situation is actually a great representation of how complex and fragile the human psyche is. Now not saying that his wrongdoings are justified but rather it's important to be able to see where someone is coming from while correcting them. Victims who aren't helped often become perpetrators and that was just haga's case.
