That’s what I was thinking the whole time.
I don't like the beginning chapters with the rape but Yae-shin has the best written character developments I have ever seen so far. In his world humans weren't worthy anything and then he falls in love. It's still not an excuse for his behaviour but at least he got to be a far better person.
I agree on character development just wish SA in general wasn’t so popular in BL. I just don’t want it to be forgotten that it did happen because a lot of BL with rape gets glossed over simply because it has good art.
Like this story could have been a masterpiece if it didn’t have it. I know it can exist. I wish I could talk to BL authors and ask them why.
