A shoulder to cry on is another BL that’s really similar to this story (high school, an ML that grows and has a similar personality). It’s one of my favorites.
I love this!! It’s rare that a BL makes me feel so many emotions. I was so angry at points, sad, happy, kicking my feet, infuriated and anxious. I don’t think I’ve ever seen a BL where the lead has his arm on the partner’s shoulder, that is sooooo so perfectly sweet. The umbrella scene where he bumps his shoulder, actual tears.
Also, I’m obsessed with the scene with Eunjung’s brother. The reversal of roles, Jiho realizing how small he felt being used and baited, the shame he feels. Just amazingly done. Jiho is extremely well written. I love how the power imbalances are corrected here.
