You are in fact correct. Mc and his sunbae were involved in a building collapse. The sunbae died, mc is still alive but dying, which is why he's having those episodes where his nose bleeds and he vomits blood and passes out. His sunbae is the ml, which is why he falls for him so fast and hard, because he was in love with him in the real world, and possibly already dating him (not sure, haven't reached that part of the novel yet). There's a scene coming up where he has a major episode and hallucinates, mixing what he sees in the real world with what he sees in the novel, and is freaking out that the hotel room they're in has collapsed and that his legs are pinned/crushed and he can't move, that the building is on top of them, and there's blood pouring from ml's head but he doesn't understand why they can't stop the bleeding.

Maybe because he is dying in his og world his consciousness is split. He's having the pain from the og world as he transmigrats. Like this is him and the ml in an alternate universe or something.

Its kind of like he's mid isekai. When someone gets transported into another world, they usually die instantly (truck-kun is merciful) so I figure as he's dying, he's transmigrated but not fully?
