I don't think fl's brother is wrong. FL and her brother both bear their father's abuse and both don't know how to love. FL also said brother was the first person to show her kindness in his own way. After he took the role as Duke, he immediate reinstated her legitimacy. By this time, FL has already built a wall for herself. Yes true, he didn't try, but I think it is more like he didn't know that he had to be proactive. You cannot tell someone who is broken to be normal when they don't know what normal is. What neglect, he was busy too. He was left with a mess of a state by his father. You can't call a single parent who works multiple jobs neglecting their kid because they're busy. He is not neglecting her because he was drinking or having fun, he was strengthening his position as lord when people are trying to undermine him because he is young and a new lord.
No hate to the brother(..okay maybe a lil bit), but I lowk hate it when the fl has to be the one to "change", for her brother/family to take noticed of her, and suddenly they are all good ppl. I'm tired of hearing excuses os his behavior, stating that he was "too busy". Bro, don't lie. The fl basically told him he was neglecting her, and that's when he started changing, so he DOES have time.(Chp.7) I hate how he's now suddenly feeling upset/a little down that the fl is leaving him. BRO, DONT LIE. Just a min ago, you acted as if she was just a trophy you claimed(by letting her accept the family name), and forgot about it. Don't start acting like a sad brother cuz her precious sister is leaving. Because of your neglect, the fl in the first tl literally behaved as if she was some rock on the road bothering everyone. Sometimes, I wish the fl didn't just forgive.. no wait, did she even realized how much of a douchebag he is?... She either doesn't realize how much damage he has done to her, OR she doesn't care and only wants to get to her hubby(I lean more in the latter). Anyways, I just wished the fl was a bit more mean. And PLEASE don't come for me saying "well, he's def better than other manhwa brother!" Let's NOT. It's literally dismissing the problem. Neglect is neglect, no matter how severe it is. And it can even be considered abuse. Like dude can make time for her, but he just doesn't care much. Which is understandable, but boy oh boy.. I hate it when the author portrays him as a sad brother cuz her lil sis is now big and independent.
